What's UP @ CMT, December 2013

Foi um ano intenso. Cheio de música e com muitos amigos, em vários lugares do Mundo. Obrigado a TODOS. Um Bom Natal. Com luz.

O Peça a Peça continua os primeiros passos de itinerância pelo Roseiral e Odivelas e estamos com o "Bebé e a Música" na Fundação Brazelton/Gomes-Pedro. Estamos ainda a trabalhar no Bebé Plim-Plim e também a aperfeiçoar o Peça em Peça para ser apresentado por várias creches, jardins de infância e teatros do País. 2014 vai ter várias surpresas agradáveis.

Play the Play continues walking its baby steps at Roseiral and Odivelas and a lecture is also presented at "Babies and Music" at the Brazelton/ Gomes-Pedro Foundation. We are still working on Bebé Plim-Plim and improving Play the Play to be presented in several nurseries, kindergartens and theater houses. 2014 will bring several nice surprises.

Os últimos tempos foram um caleidoscópio. Houve o III Encontro Arte para a Infância e Desenvolvimento Social e Humano na Fundação Gulbenkian. Foi mais um significativo marco na vida do Projecto Opus Tutti, um verdadeiro "encontro" de ideias, pessoas, memórias, emoções. Apresentámos dois dos elementos da Constelação ADP no DeCA/UA em Aveiro, Anatomia do Piano nos Festivais de Outono e poucos dias depois Pianoscópio, na Semana Aberta de Ciência e Tecnologia. Em Aveiro também, inspirados num Perú, tivemos música com os amigos do CIAC. Estivemos no Opera Lab da Jensk Opera em Aarhus na Dinamarca. Que país lindo, com gosto pela vida!

The last two months were a Kaleidoscope. We organized the III International Colloquium on Arts for Infancy and Social and Human Development at the Fundação Gulbenkian. It was one more landmark in Opus Tutti Project: people really shared ideas, memories, emotions. Constellation ADP is growing up: we presented Anatomy of Piano at the Festivais de Outono and, a few days later, Pianoscópio, at the Open Week of Science and Technology in Aveiro's University. Again in Aveiro we got inspiration from a turkey and we created music with CIAC's friends. We also participated in the Opera Lab of Jensk Opera in Aarhus in Denmark. What a nice country, with a taste for life!

Se tiver de resumir numa única palavra as coisas que trabalho neste momento na cultura, a palavra é tradução. Se a cultura é a tradução de pensamentos e emoções para a língua que se consegue exprimir através de tintas e pincéis, sons, instrumentos, imagens, movimento ou novas palavras, então programar, promover e produzir artistas é traduzi-los. E escrever sobre obras ou artistas, é tentar traduzir aquilo que oiço e vejo. Encontrei-me com a CMT em vários cruzamentos das nossas traduções, eles a traduzir música teatral para o público mais inocente e eu nas minhas traduções. Num desses cruzamentos demos as mãos..

If I had to resume in just one word what I'm working on in culture, the word would be translation. If culture is to translate thoughts and emotions into a language that speaks with paint and brushes, sounds, instruments, movement and new words, then, to program, to promote and to produce is to translate artists. To write about works and artists is an attempt to translate what I listen to and what I see. I've crossed paths with CMT on several occasions of mutual translations: they were doing the translation of theatrical music to the little ones and I was doing my own translating. At one of those crossings we gathered hands.

O Pianoscópio é a nossa mais recente criação. O olhar do Luís Margalhau registou o processo de criação e, mais recentemente, parte do trabalho que realizámos no Big Bang no CCB (aqui).

Pianoscópio is our latest production. Luís Margalhau has registered the creation process and, more recently, part of the work we did at the Big Bang Festival (CCB) (here).

Olhamos para 2014 com muito entusiasmo. Temos um Jardim Interior para construir. Ou vários. Junte-se a nós em 2014 e seja feliz!
