| As
nossas “constelações artístico-educativas” encontraram no Teatro
Municipal S. Luiz uma reverberação muito especial e um espaço para
crescer. “Constelações artístico-educativas” enfatiza a relação
intrínseca entre a pura fruição e a aprendizagem/vivência da arte,
passando a mensagem duma filosofia em permanente expansão,
complexificação, uma procura e descoberta contínua. Os PaPIs (Opus
do Peça a Peça Itinerante) são apresentados no Jardim de Inverno e
estendidos a creches para construir as primeiras Pontes de PaPI.
Estas pretendem fortalecer as relações de proximidade com a
comunidade local contribuindo assim para uma presença do Teatro
mais próxima do publico, para que o Público perceba que o teatro
está já ali e tem muito para oferecer. A ligação complementa-se
com os workshops com famílias já com olhos postos no espectáculo
participativo Babelim que virá em Julho. Vários públicos, vários
meios, o teatro, as creches, os pais, os profissionais. Uma
espécie de Música. |

| Our
artistic-educational constellations met with a very special
reverberation and found space to grow in the Municipal Theatre of
S. Luiz. The concept of artistic-educational constellations
underlines the intrinsic relationship between complete realisation
and the learning/living of the art and passes on the message of a
continually expanding philosophy, a continuing complexity, of a
continual process of search and discovery. The PaPIs (Opus of
Itinerant Play to Play) are shown in the Winter Garden and carried
over to the crèches to build the first PaPI Bridges. These are
designed to strengthen the close-knit relationships with the local
community, as such contributing to the presence of a Theatre which
is closer to the public and to the understanding that the theatre
is within easy reach and that it has much to offer. The link is
complemented by workshops with the families, looking ahead to the
interactive show which will come next July. Different publics,
different means, the theatre, the crèches, the parents, the
professionals. A sort of Music. |

Março
é mês de Primavera. Primavera é o tempo de Música. O Verão
também. E o Outono. E o Inverno. Inicia-se também uma
constelação em Vila nova de Famalicão: Opus 1 estará na Casa das
Artes que estabelece a sua primeira ponte de PaPI com a feguesia
de Bairro. É também tempo de Afinação do Brincar e Afinação do
Ouvir no S. Luiz, ao mesmo tempo que Opus 6 estará no Centro
Infanti O Roseiral. O Projecto Opus Tutti é também tema duma
palestra a apresentar na conferência da EPIS a realizar na
Fundação Gulbenkian.

| March is the month of Spring. Spring is the time of
Music. Summer too. And Autumn. And Winter. A constellation has
been started in Vila Nova de Familicão with Opus 1 playing in
the Arts Centre, making the first PaPI Bridge with the parish of
Bairro. It is also the time for Afinação do Brincar (Tuning your
Play) and Afinação do Ouvir (Tuning your Ear) in S. Luiz; Opus 6
will be in the O Roseiral Childcare Centre. Opus Tutti project
will also be the subject of a lecture at the EPIS conference
taking place at the Gulbenkian Foundation.

As Pontes de PaPI
com o S. Luiz, Teatro Municipal, continuaram a florescer em
Fevereiro, desta vez com o Opus 2 a transportar o Jardim de Inverno
e a creche numa máquina movida a música. Com uma harpa à proa e com
as vozes a remar. O plano de itinerância do projecto Opus Tutti,
apoiado pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, continuou e outras duas
creches viajaram nesta mesma máquina.
O Opus 7 entrou novamente em laboratório. Descobrimos pássaros que
também fazem chuva e até o som das estrelas. |

The
PaPI Bridges with the S. Luiz Municpal Theatre continue to
flourish in February, this time with Opus 2 transporting the
Winter Garden and the crèche in a machine that runs on music. With
a harp at the bow and with voices rowing. The plan to take Opus
Tutti on tour, supported by Gulbenkian Foundation, moves on apace
and another two crèches have voyaged in the same machine.
Opus 7 went back to the laboratory. We discovered birds that also
make rain and even the sound of the stars. |

Por sentir necessidade de aprender e de encontrar o
meu caminho tenho investigado o fantástico mundo do cinema
documental. Experiências que me têm permitido aprofundar o gosto
pelo documentário, nessa que é uma abordagem intimista de olhar
para uma realidade e encontrar uma forma de a contar
através de imagens e sons. Das experiências onde me movo,
desenvolvi laços de amizade com gente de diversos meios,
onde conheço outras maneiras de estar na vida e viajo num mundo
de formas, cores e sons de um universo de infinitas
possibilidades de comunicação, em que cada linguagem dá lugar às
emoções. Ciente de que a infância é o princípio do homem de
amanhã, acredito que o futuro será um lugar mais seguro.

Because I felt the need to learn and to find my path
I have been looking at the fantastic world of documentary
cinema. I have met with experiences that have deepened my
passion for documentaries, with its intimate approach to looking
at reality and finding a way of relating it via sounds and
images. Within the experience that emboldened me, I have
developed bonds of friendship with people from different walks
of life, where I have met with other ways of living life and I
voyage through a world of shapes, colours and sounds from a
universe of infinite communication possibilities, where every
language has a place for emotions. Conscious that childhood is
the starting point for the world of tomorrow, I believe that the
future will be a safer place.

Em breve
publicaremos algumas das ideias que temos vindo a desenvolver
sobre criação de recursos sonorous. Formas simples de construir
instrumentos que produzem som, para a partir daí fazer música. Em
casa, na escola. Brevemente lançaremos o primeiro número e em
jeito de “apetizer” aqui fica o texto Notas Supersónicas, uma
reflexão sobre as razões que nos levaram a encetar mais uma
aventura. Começa assim: “ A construção de instrumentos e a procura
de novos meios de expressão musical é tão antiga quanto a música.
A história da música é também a história da descoberta de novos
sons, de novas formas de produzir e combinar sons, de novas formas
de interagir com objectos e pessoas no sentido da construção de
canais de comunicação e expressão que usam o som como meio ou

we will publish some of the ideas that we have been developing,
covering the creation of new sound resources. Simple ways of
building instruments that produce sound. And from that start point,
making music. At home, at school. Soon we will reveal the first

out on another adventure. It starts like this: “Building instruments
and searching for new methods of musical expression is as old as
music itself. The history of music is also the history of
discovering new sounds, of new ways of producing and combining
sounds, of new ways of interacting with objects and people in the
sense of constructing communication and expression channels that use

A
Casa das Artes de V. N. Famalicão já está também a construir
Pontes de PaPI. A Ponte de PaPI pretende estreitar a relação com
as comunidades e públicos locais e destina-se às instituições
culturais que desempenham o papel fundamental na relação com a
Arte. A acessibilidade das crianças pequenas a experiências
artísticas é particularmente importante porque é nestas idades que
se formam as bases para os mais variados desenvolvimentos futuros.
“Ponte de PaPI” é um incentivo à promoção do modelo de articulação
entre apresentações de qualidade em espaços como teatros e
instituições culturais e o desenvolvimento de repercussões noutros
ambientes como creches e jardins de infância. O Teatro Municipal
de São Luiz e a Casa das Artes de Vila Nova de Famalicão foram os
primeiros a construir Pontes de PaPI e adoptaram este modelo de
itinerância ajudando a disseminar a ideia de que a primeira
infância e a infância merecem o melhor do mundo. A construção de
uma ponte global é processo continuo e com lugar para todos os
parceiros que pretendam assinalar de forma determinante o seu
impacto na comunidade.

A
Casa das Artes (The Arts Centre) in V. N. Famalicão is also
building Bridges with PaPI. The PaPI Bridge seeks to reduce the
distance to communities and the local public and is targeted at
the cultural institutions that play a fundamental role in the
relationship with Art. The accessibility that small children
have to artistic experiences is particularly important because
it is at these ages that the bases are laid down for a whole
range of future developments. A “PaPI Bridge” is an incentive
for promoting the model linking quality presentations in spaces
such as theatres and cultural institutions and the development
of repercussions in other environments, such as crèches and
kindergartens. The Municipal Theatre of S. Luiz and the Arts
Centre of Vila Nova de Famalicão were the first to build PaPI
Bridges, and took on board this travelling model, helping to
spread the word that early childhood and childhood deserve the
best in the world. Building a global bridge is a continuous
process, with a place for all those that wish it to make an
affirmed impact on the community.
