Entre 9 a 20 de Dezembro de 2020, com o chegar na noite, a instalação Mil Pássaros será “luz de presença” para quem passar junto à Loja da Lisboa Capital Verde Europeia, na Praça do Município. E quem estiver em casa, poderá também acender essa “luz” acompanhando virtualmente o vôo dos pássaros feitos pelas mãos das crianças que participaram no projeto. Pelas 19h30, via plataforma Zoom, diremos “Boa Noite!” a quem quiser estar connosco e escutar uma história, um poema ou uma canção. Clique aqui. E estaremos também no Simposium Music for Development & Rehabilitation organizado pela European Association for Developmental Care, a ter lugar via Zoom e presencialmente em Geneva, na Suíça.

Between the 9th and 20th of December 2020, as night comes, the installation Mil Pássaros will be a ”night-light” for those who pass by the Loja da Lisboa Capital Verde Europeia, in Praça do Município. And those who are at home, can also turn on this "light" by virtually following the flight of the birds made by the hands of the children who participated in the project. At 7:30 pm, via the Zoom platform, we will say “Good Night!” to anyone who wants to be with us and listen to a story, a poem or a song. Click here. Em Novembro o Pianoscópio saiu do seu “ninho” actual (a Academia Internacional de Marvão para a Música, Artes e Ciência) e voou até Loulé para integrar o Som Riscado – Festival de Música e Imagem de Loulé. O convento de Sto. António, um espaço lindíssimo onde coabitam a memória das pedras e o branco que o Pianoscópio pintou de sombras, foi mar, céu, baleia, pássaro, máquina, nuvem, gemido, canção, riso, interrogação, sino, pulsação. Em Lisboa continuámos a voar com Mil Pássaros, fazendo chegar, a partir do IFICT, a versão Zoom de Opus 8 a várias escolas e bibliotecas participantes no projeto. No final do mês estivemos na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, e em múltiplos outros locais, com o X Encontro Internacional Arte Para a Infância e Desenvolvimento Social e Humano. In November Pianoscópio left its current “nest” (the Marvão International Academy for Music, Arts and Science) and flew to Loulé to join Som Riscado - Loulé Music and Image Festival. At the Sto. António convent the memory of the stones mingled with the shadows painted by the Pianoscope on the white walls and the space became the sea, the sky, a whale, a flock of birds, a machine,  clouds, laments, songs, laughter, interrogation, bells, pulse. In Lisbon we continued to fly with Mil Pássaros, reaching several schools and libraries with the Zoom version of Opus 8, broadcasting from IFICT. On the 28-29th November we were at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and in many other places, with the Xth Internacional Colloquium Arts for Childhood and Social and Human Development. A instalação Mil Pássaros é o culminar de um projecto realizado no âmbito de Lisboa Capital Verde Europeia. O trabalho iniciou-se ainda antes da pandemia e tem vindo a envolver escolas e jardins de infância, museus, bibliotecas e famílias. Centenas de crianças têm feito nascer orizuros a partir dos seus dedos, expressando os seus sonhos ao mesmo tempo que tomam consciência da fragilidade do mundo em que vivemos. Estes pássaros de papel são a “base” de criação de um “eco-sistema” poético, de formas e sombras presentes na instalação Mil Pássaros. Mediada tecnologicamente, a instalação comporta-se como um “organismo colectivo” que “respira” e “canta” e “responde” à presença de quem passa. Um projeto participativo que convoca a força e a beleza de uma vontade coletiva no desejo comum de que tudo melhore. Siga o voo dos pássaros aqui.

The installation Mil Pássaros is the culmination of  a project developed for Lisbon European Green Capital. The work started even before the pandemic, involving schools and kindergartens, museums, libraries and families. Hundreds of children have been giving birth to orizuros from their fingers, expressing their dreams while becoming aware of the fragility of the world in which we live. These paper birds are the “basis” for creating  a poetic “eco-system” of shapes and shadows at the installation Mil Pássaros. The installation is technologically mediated and behaves like a “collective organism” that “breathes” and “sings” and “responds” to the presence of those who pass by. A participatory project that calls for the strength and beauty of a collective will in the common desire for everything to improve. Follow birds flying here.
